DVD Copied by Liz Pruszko - Department of Defense. Department of the Army. Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. U.S. Army Audiovisual Center. (ca. 1974 - 05/15/1984). This week's issue of THE BIG PICTURE presents the story of two of our newest missiles currently under development, and their roles in this nation's defense. First is the Nike Zeus, designed to intercept and destroy intercontinental ballistic missiles before they reach their intended targets. THE BIG PICTURE shows some of the early development tests of the Zeus missile system which is now in the advance testing stage of development. Second is the United States Army's powerful surface-to-surface ballistic missile, the Pershing, a highly reliable and mobile field weapon. THE BIG PICTURE follows its development through early research and testing to current models soon to be placed in the nation's arsenal.
